Get the basics exactly right
- Business name exactly as customers see it on your sign and website. Do not add keywords to the name; Google treats that as spam.
- Primary category that best describes what you do, plus a few relevant secondary categories.
- Hours, including holiday hours, kept up to date.
- Website and ordering or booking links pointing to the right pages.
- Service area if you serve customers at their location; you can hide your street address.
Fill in everything
- Services or menu, with short descriptions.
- A business description in plain language.
- Attributes such as accessibility, payment options and amenities.
- Real photos of your place, team and work, added regularly.
Reviews
Ask happy customers for a review with a short link, and reply to every review, positive or negative. Never buy reviews, write your own, or offer rewards for positive ones; it breaks Google's policies and can get reviews removed.
Stay active
Post updates, offers and events. Answer questions customers leave. Keep information the same across your website and other directories.
Measure
Check the profile's performance report for calls, direction requests and website clicks, and compare month to month.
